clutzy....

So at 7:45 this morning, while I was a half awake. I took Teagan down the stairs to get our day started....However, on the way down, I missed the last 3 STEPS!! Yes, that is correct, with Teagan in my arms, I fell down 3 stairs. I got pasty white and really nauseous immediately after it. Headed to the doctors and they said that as of right now it just looks really bruised, but that could change in the next few days.....i am such a clutz!!!

Terrific Thursday

What a great day we had yesterday....

it started off with a Tea Party. Perryn has more than one set, so Teagan got to play with his own set of tea party stuff.

Then there was some snuggling.....

And finally, we played in the open garage for an hour last night since it was such a nice evening...

I also got Teagan's thank you cards made for his birthday next week....go here to see them.

black eye, anniversary, easter

Ok, so we have had one busy week here. Seems like it's everything I can do to keep caught up in a day. So here it goes for an update as to what is going on...

As most of you remember, Teagan was kind of enough to give me a black eye for my 31st birthday. So here's the update....It is healing quite nicely and hasn't gotten any worse than the picture on the right.

Wed - 1st day after being hit Sat - a bit greener, but not too bad!!

I found myself a bit under the weather last week, I am not sure if it was a small bout of depression or a side effect from being hit in the eye. I had to get out of the house on Friday, so I called my mom and she said to head her direction. I also sweetly asked if the children could spend the weekend with them and she agreed. So off to Giddings we went for some fun. (On a side note, I figured out on the way we live approximately 75 miles away and can get there in about an hour. When we lived in Lewisville, we were probably 40 miles away from my grandparents in Fort Worth and got there in the same amount of time.) Anyways, back to Giddings....we got to Giddings in time for some afternoon dessert, and then off to Nana and Big Daddy's house. I went shopping at my dad's store and got to get some new clothes (thanks dad) while Teagan took a nap, then we headed over to Walmart where my dad got a trampoline. Yes, my children got to jump on a trampoline all day on Saturday and I think they are still trying recuperate from using all that energy.

So, my parents took care of Perryn and Teagan so that Gabe and I could celebrate our 11th anniversary together. (If some of you don't know us as well as you thought and you are trying to do some math, I was 20 for 4 days when we got married!!) So for the second weekend in a row we got to just spend time with each other. We hung out, watched movies, and went house hunting....still in the looking phase. I really did love just hanging out with Gabe, which we haven't gotten to do in a long time. Hopefully, we will get to hang out more often now that we are closer to family.

On Sunday, we headed back to Giddings to get Perryn and Teagan and then headed off to Seguin to celebrate Easter with Gabe's family. We had an egg hunt at his grandmother's house and then another one across the street at his dad's house. We scored candy and money. Candy at Omie's house and coins at Gabe's dad's house. I think Perryn and Teagan got $2-3 in coins each in their eggs. It was good to see everyone at both places. Some of the family we haven't seen in many years.

Lastly, Perryn started T-ball last night, so we will have our first game on April 5th. I didn't get any pictures, because I had to chase Teagan all around the field. She is a genuine lefty....and her daddy is so proud. Until next time...please enjoy our Easter slide show!!!

Our newest friend....

Please meet our newest friend...Tizzy the Lizard. I had to send Perryn and Teagan outside to release some of their energy on the trampoline, and they found Tizzy hanging out in the shade. Surprisingly, she didn't scare that easily when they were outside playing. She did eventually move along on her way, poor Perryn keeps asking when she will be back...

Happy Birthday to me???

So for my birthday (yesterday), I got phone calls, birthday cards, some money, a new movie, dinner out, and a.......................................BLACK EYE from Teagan. Yes, all I have ever wanted for my birthday is a black eye, and how Teagan knew that is beyond me. We were having some fun family time in our bed and Teagan sat up, decided to go full force from a seated position to laying down and silly me....my face was in the way!!!! So, the expression it looks worse than it feels is WRONG...in fact, as you can see in the picture I don't have too much of a bruise (lucky I guess), but it hurts to smile, wink, touch, move my cheek in any way.....oh well, what more could a mother ask for her 31st birthday??

our week in pictures...

So here is what we have done in the last week in pictures....Wed, we went to my grandmother's house for a visit and for me to clean a bit for her. While I clean, they entertain Teagan and Perryn. Thursday, we went to the park with my friend Bethany and her daughters, they then came back to our apartment for grilled cheese and quesadillas....we had a blast. Friday we went to Giddings to help with the food pantry, my sister took the children home with her so Gabe and I could celebrate our anniversary a week early since it falls Easter weekend. We picked the kids up on Sunday and headed to Liberty Hill for a birthday dinner with Gabe's family...to celebrate his birthday on the 4th and mine on the 18th....The pictures are in random order and I played with some of them to alter them a bit. Hope you like them!!

For Tricia...

......and my children, here are the ten things I love about being a mom in no particular order...

1. The randomness of thoughts, for example, popcorn trees.

2. Dressing herself, today was the Halloween sweatshirt and blue jeans (I was able to convince her to wear plain jeans and not ones with pink designs on them).

3. Red Curly hair that I have to spray no more tangles in because of bedhead EVERY morning...no exceptions...btw~to her, her hair is blonde NOT red. She is constantly correcting everyone that comments on her hair and she keeps changing her mind as to when her hair will be red.?.?

4. Playing 'mommy' by sitting in my rocker and 'nursing' her baby doll...(Perryn actually did this for her dad, who called me freaking out!)

5. Painting finger nails...even when they are so small one dip in the nail polish bottle does an entire hand.

6. Having 'diva' moments of being a show-off and grabbing EVERYONE'S attention in the room. But in the same day showing undeniable kindness as she also passed out balloons this day to everyone she saw so they could enjoy them too.

7. Helping me in the kitchen and having unplugged days of craftiness

8. Having a 'snuggle bug' in the house.

9. Repeating my discipline words back to me, ie: "Mommy, I think you need some alone time in your room." or "You are draining my energy." (All key tips in Love and Logic: Early Childhood)

10. Having a 'blowout' in public and we have NO extra clothes in the diaper bag since we had to use them earlier.....it's WAY windy and cold out and we are at Chilis to eat, your husband and other child in the restraunt already at a table, while you nursed the baby real quick, not knowing what has taken place in the car...poor baby was covered in only the nursing blanket.

Ramblings of a 4 yr old....

So, Perryn has been asking to eat popcorn for a couple of days now and today we finally were able to make it. She came back to me when her bowl was done and we had this conversation...

Perryn: Mommy, I am going to add my popcorn seeds to yours ok?

Me: Ok.

Perryn: Wait!! How about we don't throw away these popcorn seeds and we plant them so that we can have popcorn trees!!

I am not sure how I responded other than giggling.

On a side note, let me know what you think about the following picture. I have been longing to do something fun with the pictures we take other than putting them in our scrapbook (that I haven't started yet). An acquaintance of ours, Angel, revealed that she used Photo Editor for her fun pictures. I was looking into that and asking my great friend Shannon, who is a photography and scrapbooking GENIUS, about photo editor and she came back for me with picnik, so I am experimenting. Let me know what you think...please.

A LONG weekend

So, I took the children up to Lewisville on Thursday so I could attend a baby shower on Saturday. Had I known I was going to end up driving in a Texas style blizzard, I may have waited to go on Friday. Oh well, we made the 3 hour trip in 5 hours, it could have been worse. By the time we got to Shannon's house, there was at least 3-4 inches of snow on the ground. Check out her website to see some other fun snow pictures!!

We played in the snow on Thursday afternoon, had pizza Thursday night. Friday, we hung out with Shannon, I decorated the shower cake, and we went to dinner Friday night with our friends the Johnsons and the Romos. Saturday we hung out and had homemade crepes at Shannon's, Perryn and Teagan went to Kecia's house to play and I headed to the baby shower. Saturday night we went to The Village Church, what a blessing to see and fellowship with friends. Sunday we left to come home and made it just in time for lunch. whew...I am TIRED. Check out our slide show to see all the fun we had. Check out e2c2 to see the cake and the other fun creative things I did this weekend too.

Our fun weekend

We had such a fun weekend celebrating Gabe's birthday a little early with his mom and stepdad. We then came back to the apartment where my sister and her husband met us to spend the afternoon with us. Andy (Gabe's stepdad) put in our ceiling fan for us. It was such a pretty day, that we all went to the park to play and fly kites...woohoo.

Sunday consisted of us driving down to Bealls, my dad's store that he manages, in Giddings for a fashion show. Gabe and Teagan rested at my parent's house since it was Teagan's naptime while Perryn and I did 'girly' stuff with the fashion show. I must say, Perryn stole the show!!! Enjoy our slideshow.
